Microsoft has conceptualised, designed and engineered the new Surface tablets that will be offered in two flavours - Windows RT and Windows 8 Pro. The 64 GB version of Surface with Windows RT tablet along with the Touch Cover will cost $699 (Rs 36,960 approx.) and all versions will start shipping from October 26 onwards post launch of Windows 8, Windows RT and Windows Phone 8 formally. New 32GB version Microsoft Surface with Windows RT tablet will be available without Touch cover for $499 (and the touch cover will cost $100 (Rs 5,280 approx.) extra. Microsoft's new Surface with Windows RT tablet has a 10.6-inch ClearType HD display and packs Nvidia Tegra 3 mobile processor inside.
New Delhi, Oct 17: Microsoft has formally revealed the prices of the Surface with Windows RT tablet by opening up the pre-orders at its online store. Physically, the Intel tablet is thicker than the ARM based tablet coming in at 13.6mm compared to the 9.3mm Win RT tablet. While one will run on Windows RT, the other is a full blown Intel tablet running on Windows 8 Pro.
Two separate models will be available at launch. They bring in unique hardware features like an inbuilt kickstand and a high end Magnesium casing. Microsoft today announced its first series of self manufactured tablets under the name of Surface.
